National Commission on the Role of Filipino Women
The National Commission on the Role of Filipino Women (NCRFW) was established on January 7, 1975 through Presidential Decree No. 633, as an advisory body to the President and the Cabinet on policies and programs for the advancement of women. It is mandated “to review, evaluate, and recommend measures, including priorities to ensure the full integration of women for economic, social and cultural development at national, regional and international levels, and to ensure further equality between women and men.”
Organizational Structure
The NCRFW is an advisory body to the President on policies and programs concerning women. The Board of Commissioners led by the Chairperson sets the policies and programs/thrusts toward the achievement of the vision and mission of the Commission. The Executive Director provides direction in the planning and implementation of NCRFW operations. She is assisted by the Deputy Executive Directors together with the Division Chief of each of the five functional units: Research and Policy Analysis Division (RPAD), Technical Services and Promotions Division (TSPD), Planning, Monitoring and Evaluation Division (PMED), Information Resource Division (IRD), and Administrative and Finance Division (AFD). It has Project Management Office coordinating foreign-assisted projects.
